SnT, the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust, took part in q-leap's third Luxembourg Software Testing Event, held on 5 October 2017.
Automated generation of security test cases
Prof. Lionel C. Briand and Dr. Fabrizio Pastore, both of SnT's Software Verification and Validation Lab (SVV), spoke on the processes by which companies assess the security of their software systems. The lab's research focuses on developing methodology and tooling for identifying and testing security requirements, enabling the automated generation of security test cases.
Bridging research and practice
The presentation gave attendees a look at how academic research on security testing can translate into practical tooling that organisations can adopt to strengthen their own security testing practices — one of several ways SnT connects Luxembourg's research community with the ICT professionals who make up the LSTE audience.
